My story

My name is Martti Lehtonen and I am a bladesmith and entrepreneur born in 2000, originally from Soini and currently living in Hämeenkyrö. I begun making knives when I was 14 years old and over the years it has grown into a strong passion and profession for me. I made my first knife at school and soon after I begun organizing a little workshop in the basement of my home. In 2017, I started selling knives as a part time entrepreneur with the encouragement of my parents. After graduating as a metal artisan, I decided to go full time in early 2023. While working full time on my company, I also completed the Finnish journeyman bladesmiths qualification.

I also enjoy doing a variety of blacksmithing projects besides knives. I make blacksmith tools, decorative items, and various utility items mainly by forging. However, I am making them as a hobby and not making them for sale for now.

My products

My passion is to make Finnish puukkos in particular, but I also make a wide variety of other knives. I am very particular about the quality and development of my work – I always strive to make my next knife better than the previous.

All the products I sell are completely handmade and made by me alone, from start to finish. Each knife is the result of a commitment to quality, tradition and genuine craftsmanship.

The workshop

My workshop was originally located in Soini. In 2020, I moved it to Tampere, and in 2022, with a group of friends we founded a shared workshop in Hämeenkyrö, where I currently work. The workshop is a concrete barn built in the 1980s that has been used as a workshop since about the year 2000.

The workshop is not open to the public, but by request it is possible to come on site to make a custom order or pick up a finished knife.
